Low Sizergh Barn Trail

Fell foot is a lovely walk, situated at the foot of Lake Windermere. At Fell foot, explore the meadow, have a dip in the lake or be adventurous and hire canoes or paddle boards. Warm up and have a cuppa at the cafe. Theres lots of wildlife to see and an  adventure playground for the little ones. Dog friendly.

Low Sizergh Barn Trail

Low Sizergh Barn is situated at short 10 miles from Thornyfield. Serving local produce in their farm shop and cafe. Come and see the cows being milked from 3:30pm. 

During the trail you will pass the cows in the fields, the vegetable plots at Growing Well, and the fruit trees in the orchard.

The walk is just under 2 miles. Collect a map at the farm shop.  Dog friendly.

There are lots of ways to access Whitbarrow scar, either way you hike up, the view at the top is sensational. Look across to the Winster Valley and further to the summits of Gummer's How and the wooded Birch Fell. 

Hike up to find the lords seat- the summit which is a memorial to Canon G.A.K. Hervey, the founder of the Lake District Naturalist Trust.

The route leads towards the 'Mushroom', with a great outlook across the Lyth Valley to the higher fells of Coniston Old Man on the left and Bowfell and the Langdale Pikes on the right.

Orrest head is accsessable for pushchair, wheelchair and scooter users.  The view at the top is breathtaking. Kids, why dont you find The Gruffalo whilst walking up, making walking that much more exciting!

The Lake District is renowned for walking - but if you don't fancy tackling a fell, this circular walk around Stott Park Bobbin Mill at the southern end of Windermere is a perfect choice.
